Calder Closure on Tuesday

Drivers planning a trip to Melbourne on Tuesday have been advised by Transport Victoria to allow an extra 10-30 minutes for their journey due to closures along the Calder Highway between Bendigo and Melbourne.

The closures, which will be in place from 6am until 10pm on Tuesday, are to allow third-party filming to occur along the freeway and surrounding roads.

“These closures are critical to ensure the safety of both the travelling public and the film crew. We ask motorists to obey the road closure signs.” Said Transport Victoria.

Drivers will need to detour via the Calder Highway and Harmony Way through Elphinstone. Detour signs and traffic management will direct northbound traffic onto the Calder Highway at Malmsbury, and southbound traffic onto Fogartys Gap Road, Harcourt.

The Pyrenees Highway will also be closed near the Calder Freeway during this time.

Transport Victoria have also advised that “there will be no viewing opportunities” and request motorists do not stop on the freeway to ensure everyone’s safety.

While the roads will be closed to all traffic, emergency vehicles will have access to travel through closures and oversized vehicles will be escorted through if required.
