Elliot digs working on big rigs
1 min read

MOTOR mechanic Elliot Reeves has taken the top prize in major mining and construction equipment company Komatsu’s search for its top apprentice in Australia and New Zealand.
The Wedderburn tradie took out the best third year apprentice for the region in Brisbane last week but was soon back at the family business working on earthmoving equipment at the weekend.
“We have a lot of Komatsu gear here and I always had a drive to do my apprenticeship with them after finishing at Wedderburn College,” he said.
“I’m getting to work on everything from 1.8 tonnes excavators to 800 tonnes mining gear,  loaders, trucks and graders.”
And to cap off a big week, Elliot also passed his truck and B double license tests.
Elliot wants to gain field service experience after completing his apprenticeship in Melbourne next year.
