INGLEWOOD bowls legend Geoff Wilson has added another piece of silverware to his bulging trophy cabinet.
Wilson teamed up with Bendigo bowler Sharon Koch to win the Bendigo Playing Area Mixed State Pairs title on Sunday. In a thrilling contest, they won 16 shots to 15, defeating Kangaroo Flat pairing Barry Hogan and Sheryl Howard.
The knockout tournament was played over two Sundays, with two rounds and quarter-finals on January 19 and the semi-final and final last weekend.
Wilson and Koch sailed through the first two rounds, winning by 11 shots and nine shots, before a scare in a hard-fought quarter-final, which they won by a single shot. The Inglewood-Bendigo duo then won their semi-final 19-8 before their victory in the final.
