POLICE are investigating the theft of mowers from Mitiamo Golf Club.
Club member Ian Anderson said the theft of a John Deere fairway mower and a Zero-turn mower was discovered Friday morning.
“This is a massive blow to our small club, run fully by volunteers, these are vital equipment that will now need to replaced for us to have a season next year. 
“Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we have been robbed, and we have learned that we can’t rely on insurance to recover these losses.”
The fairway mower was found on Sunday near an abandoned trailer along a track on the outskirts of town.
Club members believe the trailer may have been modified to fit the mower but jack-knifed after being driven from the golf course.
Police have asked that anyone who saw suspicious activity near the golf club to report it to their local station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
